Second badminton session, some pressure finally getting off my shoulders - 22:41 BST October 27, 2005
Yesterday was my second badminton session. Apparently, the president said that the team players would not be there, therefore meaning having more free courts. There a few several team players, but fortunately there were not as much people unlike a fortnight ago. That meant I had more chances to play this time round, and boy did I take full advantage of it. I managed to get a few games in, winning only once, and losing the rest. It did not matter much because at least my game had improved, and I was happy about it.
Also, I saw a rather amusing incident when I was in the train. The train was idling for a while, therefore I was able to see that incident. Basically, what happened was that there was a car waiting by a T-junction. All of a sudden, a bike accelerated rather quickly out of nowhere and the bike driver realised that there was a car just in front of him. Therefore he braked pretty hard, and as a result his bike went tumbling. Luckily nothing happened to him, and that was also why I found it amusing as what he did was very dangerous and he deserved to fall down for that stunt.
The coursework deadline is tomorrow, hopefully I have done enough for a pass. That is all for today.

Coursework, coursework - 13:50 BST October 24, 2005
I have been trying to deal with a rather(difficult) coursework over the past few days. Actually, it is not too hard, just that no one has got a clue on how a 'correct' answer should look like. I just hope mine is good enough for a pass, that is all I am asking for.
Apart from that, nothing much happened, I just have been spending most of my time on reading over my course notes in order to tackle the coursework. Argh, I cannot believe how much trouble one coursework can give. Luckily I have four day lectures per week this term, it really does come in handy.
I do not know what comes next after this, only time will tell.

Lights in my room got knocked out, not really - 17:52 BST October 21, 2005
I wanted to add a new entry two days ago, but the power within my room was cut. Only the lights were working, but the sockets were not. But anyway the problem has been found out, and it seems like my room was overloaded. Whenever I switch my computer or TV on, the power just goes off. Not a surprise seeing how many electrical stuff and wires I have around here. The problem, however, was only temporarily solved, and it will only be fixed by Monday onwards.
So on to what has happened over the few days:
Wednesday, 19th October 2005 - Badminton was cancelled on this day, so that meant that I went somewhere else after my usual lectures. I went to Chinatown with my brother, Ben, Lap and Richard for some lunch. Peter joined us when we were almost done with our lunch. After lunch, we went for pool. I was a spectator for most of the time, seeing that I am very bad in the game(I have not played much at all). I saw several interesting duels between Lap and Ben, and much more. Later, Richard decided to teach me how to play the game properly. I kept missing at first, but later on I managed to get a little grip on the cue and started hitting a few of the balls into the pot. But nonetheless I am still crap.
Thursday, 20th October 2005 - No lectures today, so it was just all tutorials throughout the day. Nothing special really, apart from having my own memory refreshed over the stuff we have been learning.
Today is the day power got restored within my room. No more power cuts, yay! But I still have coursework to deal with, and it is getting nasty. Argh I hope I can get this done and dusted with.

And so, another weekend has gone - 21:09 BST October 16, 2005
A quick recap of what has happened over the few days:
Thursday, 13th October 2005 - Nothing really significant apart from the lectures that I have been to, except that I had my first tutorial on my Database Systems. The tutorial was good, seeing that the tutor knew what he was on about and he actually taught us something.
Friday, 14th October 2005 - Again, nothing really special besides getting my first coursework on this year. Great, now I have to deal with fresh pressure. But nonetheless the coursework does not account towards the final exam, so I would not be as worried should things go wrong. This does not mean I will take the coursework lightly though.
Saturday, 15th October 2005 - Did practically nothing during the morning until the afternoon. Later in the evening I went to Joanne Ooi's house for her house warming party(Yes, another one). This time the party was not that messy because no drinks were involved(well, there were drinks, but the alcohol content was very low to cause any dizziness or causing people to get drunk). I stayed at Danny's house on that day, thanks a lot pal for such a nice accommodation.
So what happened today? Nothing really, I have been lazing around, time to get up and do something useful. But I have tomorrow off so I guess I should not worry too much for having my weekend 'wasted'. Oh well that is all for today folks.

First badminton session on second year - 20:25 BST October 12, 2005
I had to take an early train today for my lectures starting at 11am and ending at 1pm. Before I went for badminton, which started from 2pm onwards, I had my packed lunch and wasted a bit of time hanging around outside Strand campus with my brother, Nigel and Richard.
By the time I got to Elephant and Castle, we were greeted with slight rain. We made our way into the sports centre and started playing a game. Nigel was new to badminton but he picked up the game well as he played better over time. I only played a game at 2pm, and then another at 3.50pm. There were indeed a lot of players there, and I barely had any chances to play because some people just grabbed the court once it is free despite having played not long ago.
But nonetheless the most astonishing thing that happened during the badminton session was that someone from SXI(Saint Xavier's Insitution, my old school in Penang) recognised me and my brother and asked if we were from the same school as his. He was a year younger than us, as well as a fresher studying in the same campus as I am. Talk about people being able to recognise me and my brother but not otherwise.
Anyway that is all for today. I am currently watching England vs Poland match, and so far England are much better and dominating, but unable to come up with a goal yet. However, I am sure they will score soon if they keep it up.
Update: England scored a goal seconds after I posted this, talk about irony.
