Nights of craziness - 22:35 BST June 03, 2007

Oh man, it has been a long time coming since there was so much craziness packed into one evening. I will however, kick off the story beginning on Wednesday, May the 31st.

So on to what happened then. I went to find my friend Aravind to catch up with what has been going on over the months as well as watching Spiderman 3, along with another friend of mine, Chrish. Chrish treated us all to the movie, and I feel a bit bad for that. I have to say that Spiderman 3 was pretty good overall, as I liked how the plot unfolded, but the ending was pretty weak.

After that day, it was June, supposedly the beginning of summer. I went to Elephant and Castle to meet up with my bunch of friends. We first went for food since some of my friends were hungry, so we stopped by at Nandos. After that, we went to Wetherspoons to have a few drinks.

At Wetherspoons, the whole lot of us had some drinks, but some had a bit too much. And Lap and Kaye were them, taking on over ten(tequila?) shots. It was kind of reminiscent of Nigel's birthday just over half a year ago, when Kaye got drunk. But that was not really much of a problem, so we headed off to Ministry of Sound.

Over there, Kaye really got us worried as he was knocked out by the effects of the shots. But luckily there was a medic who attended to him. He managed to wake up at the end of the clubbing later that night.

The day after, which was yesterday(June the 2nd for those who are rather slow), we had a karaoke session at Leceister Square. Kaye was with us, among with twenty over others.

We were singing like mad, and Kaye in particular had a good time singing. It was good to see him fully recovered(in my eyes anyway) after all that mess the night before. A lot of people seemed to have a good time however, with some of them singing to their heart's content. Pity I did not bring my camcorder along, that would have been really handy.

Later that night, I went to Lap's house, and we had a conversation regarding some matters, which are best ignored if possible really.

That is all for now.

Exams over! - 18:22 BST May 29, 2007

Exams were over a few days ago. I think I did much better this time round. I will see how it goes end of this June. Till then, university is over for now. So this marks the end of my time at King's College London as a student... or is it?

It has been a great three years upon reflection, as I met some nice people along the years. I will however reserve my judgment on the overall experience after my graduation, when it is then officially the end of me being a student of King's College London, adding to the list of alma maters that I have attended to.

If one wondered, I have been really busy since last month. I mean, hey, it is the final push, so might as well give it your all and sacrifice everything including the social life right?

That is exactly what I did, cutting communications with quite a number of people for some time, and I hope it pays off. Like I said, end of June will tell.

Anyway, nothing much really happened in the time gap. Lap came over to my place to have dinner on the 27th of this month though. It was a fun night eating loads of stuff haha.

I will be going out a bit more towards the end of this week though.

And regarding the end of July bit I previously mentioned, I think it is safe to say that I can forget mentioning it since it is no longer relevant. I think...

Project time - 12:03 BST April 13, 2007

It has been more than a month since I last updated. Busy? You bet I was. I had to compile a minimum 40-page report on my project. That was what I have been dealing with all the while, as well as the project itself, which is some program which I shall not bother wasting my time explaining because 99.99% of you reading this will not understand what I am on about. Anyway I will try my best to recap any events that occurred during the time gap.

March 9th - It was Richard's 21st birthday, we went for food and singing... it was pretty fun, especially the singing part. Reminds me of those nights at Red Box in Penang.

April 6th - I went to basketball at Southwark, central London. There were about ten of us there, mostly friends from the same course. I had fun despite being unable to shoot properly. I do not think I scored a point at all haha.

That was it, and I am on a study leave at the moment, so effectively speaking, I do not need to attend anymore lectures. After taking on the exams, I look forward to graduation this summer.

After graduation... heh, who knows, end of July will be an interesting time for me... I hope. I will fill in more details about this after the exams if possible.

Anyway, that is all, updates will be very infrequent because I am seriously busy from now until the end of May.

Merdeka: The Rock Musical - 12:11 GMT March 08, 2007

It has been some time since I updated this website. Hold it, how many times did I write that previous sentence now? Anyway I actually had intentions of updating this website earlier, but my Internet connection was problematic, and so I was separated from the cyber world for a week.

Now that all of these problems are gone, I shall then continue to what has been going on over the past few days. So yes, I was involved in Merdeka: The Rock Musical, which is a production of my university's Malaysian Singaporean society.

To give a very basic idea of what I am on about, this musical is based on events in Singapore during the 1960's. I was the flyman, along with my brother. Our roles were seemingly trivial but yet they were significant to the play, because we were the ones in charge of the pulling of the curtains. Hence any mistakes made would have been pretty visible. But the calls for the curtain pulls were all co-ordinated by my cue director, so everything was planned properly.

Pulling these ropes were not a joke, seriously.

Overall, the musical was a stunning success, as it generated not only a lot of interest, but also positive reviews, of which some admitted that it exceeded their expectations.

There were VIPs who attended to that musical too, such as the ambassadors of Malaysia and Singapore, and all of them heaped praise onto the musical, citing that the some of the more sensitive events during the context of the play, such as the riots in Singapore, were appropriately portrayed.

It was very impressive in my eyes too, given the fact that it was a student production, and everything was original, from the script to even the soundtracks(Oh how I love those music)!

Indeed it was very well done, although I have to say that some of the singing would have been very much loathed by Simon Cowell, one has to remember a few things:

For more information about the musical, visit http://merdeka.co.nr/.

Now that the musical is over, all of us are now back to our normal routine with university, which is just boring come to think of it. I have a project to deal with, and I think I am just managing to keep it under control. Increasing my efficiency is a must now.

Happy Chinese New Year! - 21:53 GMT February 18, 2007

Wow, it has been almost five weeks since I last had an entry on this site. I thought I better write something.

Some of you might have realised that I have new photos up now. Yes, both of them were photos from birthday parties. That reminds me, how many birthdays have I been to now... ah yes, five of them, but four of them were from last year.

So, what have I been up to within the gap of five weeks then? Nothing much of a great deal to be honest, just being pressurised day after day despite exams being over a long time ago. There is project to deal with, and other issues at hand as well.

Moving on, let me try to recall what happened in the past few weeks, starting with Lap's 21st birthday. Me and of course Lap with his friends went to Sugar Reef, which is a bar in central London. Over there, we had some drinks, food, playing card games, and even danced. After that party, we went to Anthony Low's house, who is one of my colleagues in university for those who are wondering.

Over there, I had a go at his Nintendo Wii, using the Nunchuck and Wiimote. This was the first time I have ever handled such gadgets, and boy what an experience it was. I tried out Wii Sports and Wii Play, which although felt at times like a tech demonstration of what the controllers can do, was very unique to play with. It was very much different from any other controllers I have been playing with all over the years. I mean, I have been playing consoles like the NES, SNES, Playstation and Playstation 2, but never something like this, ever.

A few weeks later, it was Joanne Yip's birthday, which was two days ago. It was held at her friend Anita's house, and quite a number of people attended. The living room was really packed. Everyone had food, drinks and card games(once again), and it was pretty warm because of the packed room. Later that night I went to Lap's house, and his living room has changed significantly. It was like a mini gym if anything. He also got himself a Nintendo Wii, which I did not try on that night due to fatigue.

I was dead tired during that night because I went to interview at IBM earlier that day, which was pretty tiring in terms of the distance I traveled. IBM was pretty cool, as it looked like a very nice place to work at. But I will have to wait for an answer, and I hope it is a positive one.

And earlier today, I went to central London with my brother and my parents to pray in a temple located at Oxford Circus. We had lunch there, and after praying, I took a paper from the bowl at the shrine. It read:

"Have a heart that is always full of joy."

One of the persons working in the temple explained to me what exactly that meant. I then walked through Leicester Square, which was obviously pretty packed. I could not really see the celebrations properly, but I definitely could hear it.

Anyway, enjoy those photos I have just put up, my host has just upgraded my disk space by four times, meaning that I will be able to upload more content. But not for now due to academic constraints!

And of course, Gong Xi Fa Cai!
